September 1st - 1:03 am - The Bar - Troy

Troy leaned a lithe arm on Andrew's shoulder and grinned into his neck, "So what you think, tough guy? You think you can handle the sugar, the caffeine and yours truly? I tell you what if you can keep up with me then we can work out some sort of prize, but if you fail: which is obviously going to be exactly what happens then you have to take on the bowl, unpadded out back of the store", the shewolf smiled with a mischievous twinkle in her maroon eyes, "In front of as many witnesses that want to attend the event."

"Why thank you, Mister Crosby, I certainly do appreciate you shedding a little on this little mystery. Since i feel like I have been given a little better explanation her is there any reason for me to be concerned and on the flipside of that is there anything I can do to help?" The platinum blonde's offer was genuine, it wasn't like she had anything planned for before sunrise as it was anyway.

Andrew snorted.  "If I can't keep up, I don't deserve to hold the position I hold.  Bring it on.  I won't need to face your pit of death."

Ryan winced.  "Oh, I think I'm seeing some road rash in the future."

September 1st - 3:25 am - Archangel Industries - Waylon Crosby

There was a long pause before Waylon answered.  "What is your opinion of dressing like a nun and hanging out near a church?" he asked.  If not for the serious tone in his voice and his reputation, it might have sounded like a come on.

Troy's laugh was gloriously filthy, "Andrew, your position in the pack counts for diddly squat in the arena of competitive moronic dance, my friend. I have seen mighty warriors and great leader fall to my awesome moves and sweet stylings. Stamina is only a very small part of the challenge, you must also consider humility and the secret art of not giving a crap, factor heavily in this sport. Do you think you have the gall and gonads of steel to be the center of ridicule?"

"You have me intrigued Mister Crosby, " her voice suddenly dropped all former signs of her showgirl persona and a certain predatory edge tinted her girlish tones, "Perhaps you should tell me a little more before I commit myself to such a venture, I mean, I am sure it must be something of a sin to impersonate a woman of the cloth and by golly, I certainly don't want to have worry for my eternally damned soul, now do I?"

"Anything you think you can dish out, I'm more than capable of handling and I won't need a sugar hight to kick things off,"  Andrew answered.  "If you think you can step up to this boy, then let's see what you got."  The former Olympian did a passable head bob.  "Bring it."

September 1st - 3:26 am - Archangel Industries - Waylon Crosby

"It is a venture likely doomed to failure anyway, one way or another,"  Waylon said.  "Have you met the Contessa?  She's in town hunting a rogue.  He seems to like nuns.  Add to that we've got somebody picking off hot male lycanthropes and somebody who is trying to make a move on the Master.  Quite frankly, I'd rather have a few more people between me and the direct line of fire, if you know what I mean."

September 1st - 1:05 am - The Bar - Troy

The rip roaring snort was clearly heard over the din of the so called music that filled the bar. The  female lycanthrope clutched at her chest with on long hand and tried to regain some sort semblance over her breathing between each baying laugh. Once her breath had been caught and the tears had been wiped from her maroon eyes, she playfully clapped a hand on the Olympian's shoulder, "Those were some fresh moves there, Vanilla. Damn, boyeeee! You're a regular dancefloor killah!"

Troy had obvious tickled herself as her laughter erupted again and her raven's dark head shook in disbelief. Her thumb hooked in Andrew's direction as her speech was directed at Shale, "You ever think you would witness old stoneface there throw some shapes that would have MC Hammer quiver in his magical shoes?"

"I more than understand the point you are trying so eloquently put across there, Mister Crosby, but gosh darned it if you're not painting an entirely unconvincing case for me to step up and lend a helping hand. Now I have no problem playing dress up in a habit and wimple, hell that sounds like my regular Wednesday evening anyway, but you might want to give me a little more confidence in this operation if you are serious about wanting my assistance", Sailor's sparkling tone showed no signs of ever letting up, "Besides if I didn't show up for my adoring fans then you would have a yourself a most stylish riot on your hands, so how about you let me know the particulars, like the kind of back up and protection I would have and maybe we can see about cutting ourselves a deal here?"

September 1st - 3:27 am - Archangel Industries - Waylon Crosby

"I hardly think you'd successfully be able to disguise yourself,"  Waylon said, sounding amused.  "As far as back-up and contingency planning, you'll need to discuss that with some one other than me.  I'm not the master at arms, you see.  I'm a simple messenger.  I think we're going to have a full house on this project.  Father Domenic Sozio will most definitely be involved, as will the new police unit but I think our primary asset here will be the Contessa and her escort.  I'm sure you noticed him.  He looked rather tanned and dashing at the town hall meeting.  They have been hunting this vampire for some time and have chased him here from somewhere in south east Asia.  We aren't pleased that he came here but I suppose he has to be somewhere and if it has to be here then so be it.  We will deal with it as we must."

Every ounce of the showgirl sunshine dropped from Sailor's voice and was replaced by a bizarre coldness that revealed her true predator, "Mister Crosby, you of all people should know that judging a book by it's glossy, pulp cover is erroneous on so many levels. Some of us are born chameleons and that veneer that you think is the shallow truth is as betraying as Judas' kiss. Now you either want assistance on this venture or not. I have already been employed by Archangel Industries in exchange for information that is decidedly more valuable than cash could ever be and being that you are the right hand of the right I should expect you would have at least gotten a little sniff of what that may be. Now I would greatly appreciate if you further desist from insulting my intelligence, committal to the Master of the City and my ability as a vampire. I have both the balls and the ability to back them up to assist this venture in more ways than you can imagine."

"My, aren't we fierce?"  Waylon's musical tone hadn't changed.  In fact, he sounded amused.  "Miss Morgan, I am not questioning your commitment, ability, loyalty or even your stated weight.  If you had paid attention to my words, you would realize that I am offering you a list of people that will be working on this particular task.  You may ply your charms with any or all of them.  Just be aware that the vampire you are going to be hunting is quite powerful and his chosen victim indicates that he likely either has a high pain tolerance or an ability to ignore crosses.  Are you still so interested in taking on this task?"

September 1st - 7:30 am - Alley, Auburn District - Jack Shannon

If there was one thing Jack was thankful for after all his years in SVU, it was he was desensitized to violence. But even his stomach was a little turned by what he was looking at.

"A nun, elderly, I'm guessing possibly in her seventies. Condition is pretty badly bruised up, by the swelling and pooling of blood towards her backside I'm guessing she's been laying out here for a while now. Definitely preternatural, I don't think a human could put the force needed into their strikes to do this kind of damage. I'd probably guess that there will be more broken bones than whole ones. My initial guess would be a shifter, but since she's not in pieces I'm not too sure. That's all I got."

Jack stood up next to the body and looked at the cop who was writing down his description of the crime scene.

"Notice how her cross is still around her neck? It doesn't look like it scorched into any vampire, but you never know, get forensics to go to work on it so we can start compiling a suspect."

Jack started to reach into his pocket for a cigarette when he noticed the corpse twitch, the cigarette never found his lips as he dropped back down and searched for a pulse. Nothing. He grumbled to himself and sat back on his ass, just a postmortem twitch. The other cop inquired as to what he'd seen, he just waved him off and fished out the bent cigarette he had been going for in the first place.

It was with a secret relief that Sailo thanked what ever odd deities for being immortal, for if time had been an issue for the daughter of the midway, she would have felt every single minute of the conversation nibble away at her time left on the planet. Waylon had reminded her exactly why she found the company of most vampires a tawdry lesson in futility, the verbal swipe at her nose with a rolled newspaper was swatted away like a somewhat persistent and annoying housefly, "Yes,Mister Crosby, I am still interested in volunteering for this task. I am not the kind of woman that offers her services without having some sort of personal agenda, of which you are more than privy to. Now, if you could just instruct me as to what kind of role you would like me to don for this particular assignment and either alert those I need to be working with or pass on their particulars so that I might sign in. Dawn is fast approaching I still wouldn't mind a nice quick and sweet bedtime snack of a pretty face or stimulating conversation before the sun rears it's big sleep inducing rays over out fair city."

"Hell of a way do die," the cop said.  "Seventy years of guarding her cherry and she gets nailed in a back alley by some thing that wasn't even human."  He shook his head.  "Makes you wonder if there really is a God."

The forensic van pulled up and one of the coroners stepped out.  He looked at the body with a mix of revulsion and distaste.  After twenty years on the job, he still couldn't hide his opinion of crime scene examination.  "Who is the officer in charge of the scene?" he asked, his accent suggesting that he might have originally been from Texas.

"Normally I'd question that myself but with shit like this happening at increasingly frequenter rates, God is all I have to hold onto."

Twin violet eyes watched the van pull up and the coroners get out, his black cop sunglasses hid his rolling eyes from the perturbed coroner.

"That would be me" Jack said as he pushed himself off of the cement ground and to his feet. "Officer Shannon."

"By all means, feast,"  Waylon said.  "You can call the Contessa through the switchboard when you are done or call Father Sozio the same way.  I suspect the Contessa's escort will be fairly close to her, mores the pity."

"Already designated as a preternatural crime, eh?"  The man shook his head.  "Given the condition of the body, I'd say she's been here for no more than six hours, possibly as few as two.  Whoever did this obviously didn't care if she was alive for it or even conscious for that matter.  Dave, take a few pictures.  I want the hands and pubic area.  I'm guessing she struggled but I can't say for certain.  I'll need to examine the body.  Have you had breakfast, Shannon?"

"No."

Jack looked the coroner over, noting his demeanor. He couldn't figure out for the life of him why it would matter if the old nun had struggled. After all, even if she did it would hardly matter against your garden variety piece of shit rapist, let alone a granny tagging vampire. He reached into the pocket of his tan trenchcoat and removed a silver Zippo lighter. He flicked it open while lightening it at the same time, a old trick, and lit the bent cigarette in his mouth.

"Now I have" he mumbled through the smoke.

"Absolutely, I will do just that once my belly is nice and warm from a nice little sanguine snack.Anyway, thank you for your time Mister Crosby and I am sure we will be speaking again soon. Anytime you feel the need for a little burlesque do just drop into La Cirque, your name will consistently be on the honours list. We have quite the variety of pretty things that suit every one's taste. Girls and boys, living and dead, shifter or human or vamp we really do have a little of everything, but I digress, my tummy is a'rumbling and is under the impression that my throat has been slit, so I did you a good morning and thank you for having a touch of honesty."

The coroner laughed.  "Breakfast of champions,"  he said, patting his shirt pocket.  "I'm going to ask a stupid question and inquire as to the existence of witnesses.  Have you spoken to the person who found the body?  Did they give you anything to work with?"  He pulled a pair of blue nitrile gloves out of a case and pulled them on before he began carefully manipulating the corpse.  "Has she been ID'd?"

"There is a reason it is called a dying art, Miss Morgan,"  Waylon said.  "In this matter, you may contact either me or Miss Aguilar,  Mr Salvatore's secretary and personal assistant.  Need I express the point that this is a very critical matter for us politically and socially?  We're going to be in the spotlight for quite some time and given your penchant for stealing said focus, I suspect you will handle your portion of this admirably."

Jack smiled, the shared addiction made him like the coroner a lot more than he had just moments before.

"No witnesses yet. I also haven't got a chance to talk to the guy who found her yet either, poor bastard. As for vic's ID, a nun at some local Catholic school. They called her in missing and we found her soon after, the habit gave her away. Her name escapes me right now. He can tell you" Jack finished, pointing out the other cop who had been writing down the crime scene information.

"Sister Mary Joseph,"  the cop answered, after consulting his notes.

The coroner nodded.  "Had to be sister Mary Something.  They're all sister Mary Something."  He returned to his job, humming under his breath.  In the typical gallows humour of most coroners, the tune he had chosen was 'Bad Habits' by the Monks.

In ten minutes, he turned to the waiting officers.  "You can bag her,"  he said.  "Shannon, you got a minute?"
