September 1st - 7:30 am - Alley, Auburn District - Jack Shannon
If there was one thing Jack was thankful for after all his years in SVU, it was he was desensitized to violence. But even his stomach was a little turned by what he was looking at.
"A nun, elderly, I'm guessing possibly in her seventies. Condition is pretty badly bruised up, by the swelling and pooling of blood towards her backside I'm guessing she's been laying out here for a while now. Definitely preternatural, I don't think a human could put the force needed into their strikes to do this kind of damage. I'd probably guess that there will be more broken bones than whole ones. My initial guess would be a shifter, but since she's not in pieces I'm not too sure. That's all I got."
Jack stood up next to the body and looked at the cop who was writing down his description of the crime scene.
"Notice how her cross is still around her neck? It doesn't look like it scorched into any vampire, but you never know, get forensics to go to work on it so we can start compiling a suspect."
Jack started to reach into his pocket for a cigarette when he noticed the corpse twitch, the cigarette never found his lips as he dropped back down and searched for a pulse. Nothing. He grumbled to himself and sat back on his ass, just a postmortem twitch. The other cop inquired as to what he'd seen, he just waved him off and fished out the bent cigarette he had been going for in the first place.
