Sept 1st 6:48 pm Outside Wasabi By - Jules Xavier Chalice

The limo pulled up to the restaurant and slowed to a stop.  Rather than waiting until the driver opened his door, the passenger got out on his own.  He was dressed in a stylish suit of palest grey, accented with silver buttons.  As he passed the two werelions, he smiled and nodded slightly, leaving behind a faint whiff of expensive cologne and a scent that was unadulterated human.

Sept 1st 6:48-6:50 pm Outside Wasabi By - Semira Snyder and Ben Rothwell

Semira gave the man in the grey suite an awkward smile as he walked by, watching as he entered the restaurant. Weird she thought to herself before turning back to the lion. Sorry, did you end up saying who you were? I kind of got distracted,

Sorry I got distracted as well my name is Ben, Ben Rothwell Im here to meet some people for dinner, said Ben as he looked the young lady up and down.

I think Im one of those people, if my nose is correct, she questioned, already knowing she was correct.

Yes most likely seeing that we are both werelions, and I was coming to meet a lioness, replied Ben with a smile on his face.

And I was coming to meet a certain lion. Shall we go in and grab a drink while we wait? Semira asked gesturing towards the door. She looked back up at the man, who was at least a good foot taller than herself.

Sept 1st 6:51 pm Inside Wasabi Bay - Jules Xavier Chalice

He had been correct in assuming the young woman was the lioness, since she seemed inordinately interested in the man he knew to be a were-lion.  Rex and Regina was the traditional title for them even though modern culture had been trying to sneak Simba and Nala into common parlance.  Jules was a traditionalist by nature and inclination.  If he had his way, there would be no Disney references insinuated into the lycanthropic culture.  Thousands of years had gone into the formation of their unique internal structure.  He wasn't keen on allowing pop culture to run roughshod over it all.

He chose a table seemingly at random but the slight tilt his head made before he indicating his choice was indicative that he was listening to a voice only he could hear.  "Inform Mr Rothwell that his table is ready, as soon as he arrives,"  he told the waiter.  "There will be a young woman with him and we will be joined by another gentleman as well."  Jules smiled.  "The gentleman will be hard to miss."

Sept 1st 6:51 pm Inside Wasabi Bay- Jonah

(I am sory about the delay.)

Jonah was dressed to impress and never liked to be late. He worried, often, about being late. It was never racking to him. Promptness and politeness were two things that were important to him. Though he did tell everyone that it was around seven he felt it was cutting it close. However, he did not rush. Even when late, one must never look over eager and rushed; at least that was what he thought.

His favorite food in the world was served at Wasabi Bay and sence he had the opertunity to pick he had to pick it. Of course there were other places but he knew some of the people there. Full of confadence and an alluring smile upon his supple lips, Jonah entered the restarant. His eyes caught sight of Ben and Semira instantly. "I see the two of you have already met."

"Jonah.." called the host as he walked up. "I should have known you would come here. When the gentlemen said you were not hard to miss it slipped my mind." The older male smiled as he brought his arm up to place a gentle hand upon Jonah's back. "This way please."

September 1st- 9:47 am - Rat Warren - Lillia

Lillia smiled.  "Just because I have to be careful about it doesn't mean I don't enjoy the sunshine.  I will see what information I can garner for you.  I'm sure there are others who feel the same way."  She told him as she tucked her sewing away.  She popped up to her feet and stretched.  "If fact, I'll get right on it."  she said as she hurried off, obviously pleased with the descision.

Sept 1st 6:51 pm Inside Wasabi Bay- Semira Snyder

The lioness nodded and smiled at the man responsible for the two lions meeting. They followed Jonah and the waiter to his awaiting table, Semira once again noticing the man in the grey suit. She had thought they were going to pass him, but the waiter had stopped as his table. Confusion had crossed her graceful features as the waiter added, "Here we are."

Sept 1st 6:52 pm Inside Wasabi Bay - Jules Xavier Chalice

"You seem surprised,"  Jules said, standing to greet them.  "I am Jules Xavier Chalice and, among other things, I am Jonah's sponsor where such dealings are concerned."  He stepped forward and gave the werefox a warm embrace and a soft peck.  "Where he has the social skills to make contacts and arrangements, I have the financial wherewithal to make things happen.  Mr Rothwell, must I say I've been an admirer of your efforts on behalf of lycanthropes.  Miss Snyder, welcome to Seattle.  I hope your stay will be pleasant."

August 31st, 11:52 p.m. - September 1st, 1:00 a.m. - - Seattle's Conference Center - The Bar - - Shale

"I don't really feel like mingling and trying to play nice with the damn walking dead.  Drinks on the other hand sound like a great idea."  Shale smiled at Krissy.  Her smile got even bigger when Ryan mentioned getting into trouble.  "OK you two," said to the two of them, "lets get out of here.  Andrew, Troy.   Are you joining us or are you going to go find a nice private corner?"  There was a definite glint of mischief and amusement in Shale's eyes.

The bar they wound up at one where Krissy was apparently a regular.  One of the waiters and a couple of waitresses called her by name when they entered and sat down.  The music was on, just loud enough to add some background noise to the room, but not loud enough so that people had to raise their voices over it.  Shale ordered a bottle of Stolichnaya Vodka, and proceeded to wash the taste of vampire from her throat.

August 31st, 11:40 p.m. - September 1st, 2:30 a.m. - - Seattle's Conference Center - Club Sanguina - - Elisabeta

"It would be my pleasure to show you around, Herr Wilhelm."  Elisabeta turned to Nigel and smiled.  "If you will excuse us Nigel?  I think I will take Herr Wilhelm on a small tour of the city.  If you need to get in touch with us you may leave a message at Club Sanguina.  Else at my hotel."  She turned back to Wilhelm.  "If you are ready, my dear.  Let us take our leave."  She led him through the throng of people and out into the crisp night air.  Elisabeta took a deep breath.  "Much better," she said to no one in particular.  "It was getting a bit stuffy in there."  She gave him an abbreviated tour of Seattle and ended up at Club Sanguina.

"Here we are.  Club Sanguina."  They entered and she led the way to a booth in a rear corner.  "Most of the clientele here are vampires or fang junkies.  There are private feeding rooms in back if you feel the need for a living donor.  Each donor and vampire is required to fill out a short form.  Just some basic information such as whether you prefer a male or female donor, a specific blood type, or if they need to be free of disease and street drugs.  Although almost all of the donors here are of course.  This is always a safe place to come for a bite if there is nowhere else for you to go.  As for where you will be staying.  Until you find a permanent residence, you will be residing in my suite at the Sorrento Hotel."  She paused for a moment and took a sip of her drink.  "You needn't worry about me forcing you to share my bed.  That is your decision alone to make, not mine.  There is a spare bedroom in my suite that will be for your use.  As to the rest of our arrangements, we can discuss them at a latter time and date.  For now just enjoy my company and try and let me know where you will be when you leave the hotel.  Just in case of trouble."

September 1st - 1:00 a.m. - Seattle's Conference Center - The Bar - Troy Dwyer

Troy swung her legs like an overgrown child from her perch on the bar stool. She watched her canvas clad feet with a certain amusement before returning her maroon gaze to the rest of those gathered, "Psht. . get me drunk? I haven't drank since I was nineteen. I am the epitome of the words righteous and true", she grinned playfully at the ex-Olympian, "But I tell you what, you get me loaded up on caffeine and sugar I can promise you more than your fair share of troublesome hi-jinx."

She peered past the small gathering at the meagre dancefloor inhabited by a gaggle of three lackluster swaying folks, trying their best to disguise their awkward inability by avoiding eye contact with their fellow dancers, "In fact, you supply me with red bull or jolt and I'll show you some of the patented Dwyer dancefloor killer moves."

September 1st, 1:01 a.m. - - Seattle's Conference Center - The Bar - - Andrew

"Bean you up on sugar and cut you loose, eh?"  Andrew chuckled.  "Alright, I'm taking a collection.  I've got twenty bucks that I'm willing to spend on Jolt, Red Bull and Full Throttle.  I'm not saying you have to shotgun it all at once but I think I'd like to see those killer moves."

Ryan laughed.  "Get him off duty and he turns into a hellraiser,"  the Loki said with a laugh.  "And why not?  He's got a stressful job.  he needs to relax a little.  I'll toss twenty into that pot on the sole condition that if she gets up on the dance floor, you get to be her partner in crime for whatever mischief she can get into."

"Deal," said Andrew, holding his hand out for the cash.

"This is going to be really fun to watch,"  Ryan said to Shale as he laid a pair of ten dollar bills in Andrew's hand.  "And here I am without a camcorder."

Sept 1st 10:45 am Seattle Police department - Domenic Sozio

Domenic was gone for barely more than fifteen minutes when the door opened and he re-entered the room.  "It seems the chief is more than happy to give me some space in your department.  It seems that having me here is some sort of publicity coup.  Federal Marshal comes before Father on the honorific bill, by the way, So I am Marshal Father Sozio.  I also happen to be a tour guide today, because I just found somebody that just showed up looking for you."

He stepped aside so a woman could enter the room.  She was the wererat from the night before.  Nisalda Salgado looked frightened still and looked around as if expecting to see Nick or Lillia.  "I hope I'm not late," she said.

September 1st- 9:50-10:45 am - Rat Warren - Lillia

Lillia had managed to recruit a couple of the other girls to help find out the information that Nick wanted.  It was a good thing too, as she wasn't the most popular of the rats.  There were a few that actually hated her because she was so likable.  She didn't let that bother her though.  It was a fact of life, rats or no.

She chewed the end of her pen, looking over the short list she had in her little notebook.  A lot of the girls had lost jobs that they would not be able to go back to.  A couple of them knew how to sew though, so she was considering suggesting an alterations shop, maybe pair it with a dry cleaners.  It wasn't fancy, but it was something.  There had to be other options, too, she just had to think of them.

September 1st- 10:45 am - Rat Warren - Nick

"Any luck?"  Nick asked.  He'd been doing some canvasing on his own and it seemed there was a serious lack of skilled trades among the rat population.  There were few jobs that required no skill and they paid poorly.  Still, a paycheck was a paycheck and it had to beat slinking through alleys and risking electrocution to steal a DVD player or laptop.

"I've been thinking about the shapeshifter alliance as well.  There might be a way to build a little trust by hiring rats out to other shapeshifters to do odd jobs.  Move furniture, weed gardens.  Things like that."

Lillia wrinkled her nose, but sighed all the same.  "Odd jobs and manual labor are fine, for the most part.  A job is a job after all.  And working with other shifters sounds like a good possibility, provided everyone can get along.  I haven't come up with much myself.  Most of the girls have left jobs they can't go back to.  Most people just don't like the idea of a shifter serving food, tending wounds, or teaching, but I refuse to think that we would be stuck with grunt work."

September 1st- 10:46 am - Rat Warren - Nick

Nick nodded.  "There is another group in history that was forbidden to have a trade.  They were forced to make a living in non-trade occupations.  It was intended to deny them a chance at a livelihood.  They were forced to find jobs as lawyers, doctors and moneylenders.  Imagine everyone's surprise when they found out that the Jews managed to amass a huge amount of wealth and power because they had no choice but to work in those jobs.  I doubt there is going to be much of a chance of us to open a shifter bank, hospital or law school but if they can make lemonade out of those kind of lemons, we should be able to come up with something.  A school for infected children, maybe."

Lillia grinned.  "That's a wonderful idea!  Instead of viewing the general outlook towards shifters as a hurdle, perhaps its better to look at it as a stepping stone.  While it may take a very long time to reach certain heights, I'm sure that we can manage it.  I would say we should talk to a few of the school teachers here in the warren and see if they would be interested.  It would be a great goal to spring for.  In the meantime, we still need to have some kind of income if we are going to get out of here.  It'll be hard to find something somewhere where they won't discriminate against us. "

She tapped her pen on her notepad, leaning against the wall.  "Well, maybe some of the guys can find work as bodyguards or bouncers.  Most people see shifters as brawn anyways.  And we can check the phone company or the cable company- they always need techs.  There's also car repair, or anything electronic.  I think I have a couple of girls on my list that know a thing or two about computers."

"The wolves may have the bouncer bodyguard thing, true, but maybe we could take that a step further.. maybe security.  Its at least worth a try.  I'll talk to a few of the girls and see if any of them are interested in that too.  Personally, I'll see if I can find work as a secretary or something similar.  Desk work should suit me fine."  She smiled again at him and pushed away from the wall and headed down the hallway.

IC: Sept 1st 6:52 pm Inside Wasabi Bay - Jonah

Jonah did his best to stay professional while friendly. His smile was apparent and not as 'charming' as usual. However, it was a bit more genuine. He cleared his throat turned his gaze towards Ms. Snyder. "He is the one that I spoke of last night.this is Ms. Semira Snyder and Mr. Ben Rothwell. I apologise for the slow introduction." He took a deep breath and pulled a chair out for the lady. "Shall we?"

"I am going to have to rely on you, Jonah,"  Jules said.  "I've never eaten here but I know the reputation for excellence is well deserved."  He paused, then chuckled.  "I am forced to rely on Jonah for any number of things.  He is my networker, my contact to the world of shapeshifters and my right hand.  In this venture I would be utterly lost without him.  You see, I have some grand plans for the future of the shapeshifters and vampires in Seattle and yet have no ability to bring them into being.  I don't have the understanding of the subtleties of your unique cultures since I am not one of you.  Jonah knows, where I can merely guess."

September 1st- 2:46 am - Archangel Industries - Nigel Salvatore

Nigel sat at his desk, stroking the cat that had jumped up into his lap.  He looked as if he were lost in thought but nothing could have been farther from the truth.  His mind was buzzing with any number of ideas.

"Miss Aguilar?"

"Yes, sir?"

"Send out a page.  I want to know where everyone is and I do mean everyone.  Have the HR department assist you in contacting anyone who does not carry a pager.  This is urgent.  Send it with the code indicating that it comes from the Master of the City."

Nigel's human servant froze.  The three digit code, 999 was reserved for communication that came directly from the Master of the City.  It was a vampiric equivalent of tacking 911 on the end of a page.  It was unlikely that Nigel would have even considered using it withoiut permission.  To send it out universally....

It could only mean something terrible.

"Right away, sir.  I'll compare incoming calls to our personnel roster, just to make sure everyone checks in."

"Thank you, Miss Aguilar."  After a moment, Nigel reached for his phone.  It would likely be of no use but he needed to put the building's security on alert.  It was less than four hours until dawn.  In that time, a running man could slit a thousand throats.  A rogue vampire could do considerably more.
