Okay folks, so a few of us have been having a little chat, both here on an other thread a start a few days ago and also on facebook. It seems to be that time of year, when the seasons change; its getting a little chillier outside and indoor activities begin to become a great deal more attractive. That is unless you happen to be a nocturnal creature that hisses at the great glowing orb in the sky as if it were some fiend looking to steal not only your soul, but also every precious thing you hold dear.....like I do.
But, I digress.
I know I have felt the lure to return to The Elmwood and become active in play again. I've got a whole cacophony of ideas and characters jostling to be heard, with a few of them being a presence on here already, so I would very much appreciate if we can use this thread as not only a role call of all the people that still darken the doors, but also to gauge what we would all like to play. Currently, THE THING THAT WILL NOT DIE or more affectionately known as The Anitaverse is still active, as is Department 7. Are there any games that you would like to see return, reboot or restart?
I'm here to get the ball rolling, I've already dropped my smooth moving werewolf in The Anitaverse, with a mind to bring my hip swaying vamp back as well. I'm considering getting my Promethian to shamble back into Department 7 if I can encourage a little thunderstorm up in my brain.
I've had a request or two to drag both Changing or the Guard and Between Gods and Monsters from obscurity, and I would be willing to get either or both going if there is the interest.
I would like to see Maxx's When Evil Stirs... have a second chance, mainly because I get to live out one of my spirit animals in a small, cockney, ex-street kid, Capuchin monkey with a serious empathy for all things mechanical.
I was really enjoying Goosekat's post apocalyptic word she was developing in Safe Haven, where I got to be a bad ass, mutant killing ex-WASP test pilot. I know Ms Goosey regularly gets severely kicked in the crotch by real life , so I am more than willing to wait and be a good, patient monkey for that one.
And lastly; there is my new idea which I think has the potential to be good fun, if folks are interested. Just very quickly, it will be set in a world fifty years after a major catastrophe, where the science of man was forever broken by the rising of the Old Gods of magic. The new world has advanced well beyond it once was before the event, with magic being the power source for all new technologies and the wielders of magic finding their way from the shadows to live amongst humans. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN MONKEY?!!!! In short, imagine Bladerunner meets Neil Marshall's Doomsday meets the Harry Potter universe meets Shadowrun meets David Lynch meets Lovecraft Mythos meets everything William Gibson ever wrote meets Ferngully meets David Cronenburg meets Godzilla meets Hellboy meets Labyrinth......keeping up? I have an idea for a plot, but I would like player input...a LOT of player input. I would really like to make a brand new, living, breathing world that we have built together. Something we can all invest in. I want this to be a dark world where we can live out our weirdest and most fucked up fantasies, but also find comradery and even possibly some of our characters can find not only love but themselves. Seriously, if anyone has ANY question about this, ask here or PM me. I'll even open the doors of my Skype....I am that stupidly excited about this world.
So there you have it folks, please excuse the ridiculous length of this post, my enthusiasm got a little out of hand, but sometimes that's not such a bad thing. Leave your thoughts and ideas so we can all get together on some really freaking amazing RP!
