Wednesday, June 12, 2053 2:00 am back at the farm - Stalker

Everything had returned to normal at the training centre or so it seemed from the road.  The lights had gone off again and the animals had settled.  There seemed to be little or no activity going on inside the house as well.  Lights had been turned off and it appeared that the occupants had returned to sleep.

Wednesday, June 12, 2053 2:00 am A motel down the road - Pepper

With the wounded decker and the drugged elf in his truck, Pepper moved off to a place where they could work in greater privacy.  Shroom was laid out on one of the room's small beds, the elf was on the other.

"So," the dwarf said, looking at Ice, "how should we go about waking him?"

Ice studied both men. "I'm not a doctor." She confessed. "I could hit him up with a heal spell and that be about it. If that isn't good enough I am up to suggestions."

Wednesday, June 12, 2053 2:05 am A motel down the road  -Draven

In the stillness between awakening and slumber, a young elf tried to remember what happened to him. The comfort of a bed and trauma of what he had gone through made him wish for the sleep to continue. Because he could not remember much of anything, he felt that he was probably better off but he could hear voices of at least two others within that room. Draven shifted and realized he could no long hide within his own mind. He was still warn but unable to sleep any longer. He lay, with silver orbs locked on the ceiling. Softly spoken words finally slipped from his lips. "There is no need... I-I am awake..."

Behind mirrored sunglasses Ice's eyebrows rose. "It would appear that hes healthy enough to talk Doc."

She studied the small slender elf checking out his vitals he probably did need a good heal spell before he would be of any use but talking was good. Talking meant they could interrogate. "Welcome to the land of the living." she said in way of simple greeting to the stranger.

Wednesday, June 12, 2053 2:0 am back at the farm - Stalker

Stalker sat for a few moments looking at the farm. It had been half an hour since they had bailed and everything was quiet. He closed his eyes a moment and tried to recall everything as precisely as possible that had happened in the brief encounter. After he was done he considered the quiet farm and tallied up the most likely possibilities.

The people at the farm were involved and complete idiots who went straight back to bed after being alarmed enough to release the animals they raised in the middle of the night, hear people shouting followed by a shotgun blowing up, and seeing the smoke from a smoke grenade, not to mention actually finding the spent grenade itself if they came down to the fence and looked around to see what the hell was going on. All this is assuming that the elemental wasn't running screaming back to them, of course. This seemed unlikely if they actually knew what was going on.

Then again, they could simply be counting on the fact that if they had been caught it would have been an army of cops beating down the gates and anything other than that could be written off as twits who didn't bother to read the warning signs and came on the farm anyway. He also couldn't discount the possibility that they were only getting paid for privacy, in which case they had a vested interest in keeping quiet about the incident if they thought the cash would stop coming because of this.

They just didn't have enough information. He sighed and went to take a look in the back of the van. The more complex gear he could venture a reasonable guess at what it did but that wasn't what he needed or could even use, come to that. He was looking for the standard miniature surveillance gear. Video and audio devices that could be hidden and picked up later for review. He also wanted to get back over the fence and take a look at the combat site. He might be able to pick up more information about the people here. He could certainly find out if they had come to the fence to investigate and get an idea of how concerned they were from both scent and tracks. If he could find bugs, he could plant them in a position to observe the gate as well as maybe get some in the barn if he was lucky.

Wednesday, June 12, 2053 2:06 am A motel down the road- Draven

He groaned and shifted in the bed as his left hand was brought to his forehead as his eyes were still adjusting. Those silver optics still made out shapes in the ceiling as he tried to figure out if they were his captures or his saviors. There was also a chance that the were not really either and saved him for another purpose. Slowly, the little elf male started to slide himself up so he could lean back against the head board rather then flat on a pillow. The lad still felt a bit groggy but he was coherent. "Wow... awaken behind a pretty face that was hidden behind dark lenses..." He joked in order to push passed the trauma rolling in his head. What the hell happened to me. Why can't I remember? "Ah yes... but is the land of the living really that welcoming?" Still trying.

The young blonde gang member studied the elf her face impassive. "At the moment the world is likely more welcoming than the place where we found and rescued you from. Tell us how you got to be in a shed trussed up like a turkey ready for holiday feast. If you don't remember that then tell us everything you remember up to that point. The date in case you are curious is June 12th 2053 and it is approximately 2:07 am she replied as her mirrored eyes looked at her watch quickly.

The lad was dreary and warn. The disorientation lingered even as the drugs wore off. His memory of what had happened was foggy at best. DRaven shifted to sit himself up but leaned against the headboard. "I am -sorry... at the moment I can not remember anything.... I remember.... reaching into my truck... and.... I...." He sighed heavily as he rubbed his left eye. "Wait.... No.... June twelfth you say? A day.. It has only been a day." Draven closed his eyes for a moment and tried to remember anything else. A part of him did not WANT to remember.

Wednesday, June 12, 2053 2:08 am A motel down the road - Pepper

"A missing day,"  Pepper said, rubbing his chin.  "He's been either unconscious or drugged.  If I could get a blood sample, I'd be able to figure out which.  There are drugs that erase memories.  They make recall impossible.  Given our enemy's already proven willingness to use drugs on children, I see no reason why he'd be less willing to use them on an adult."

He couldn't count on them being idiots and going back to bed so he couldn't risk going back onto the farm proper at the moment. He had to assume that they knew what they were doing, which meant that someone would be sweeping the property for bugs regularly anyway. But..most people wouldn't sweep too far outside their perimeter.

He found some of the bugs he was looking for, the kind that would simply record and store but not actually transmit anything; those were less likely to be found. He took his time getting into position, approaching the fence off the road, from opposite the gate. He placed two of them across the road, at an angle on each side of the gate so that you had the best opportunity to see the face on both the drivers side and the passenger side and quietly made his way back to the van.

He carefully made his way back to the location where they had come across the fence to observe it for a bit from the other side of the road. If things looked safe, he would go across and see what he could see from this side of the fence, check the tracks, scents and pick up anything that they might have missed in the rush to get out, then head back to the hotel room.

He would also let paranoia sit on this shoulder and take what steps he could to ensure that he wasn't followed back to the hotel.
