Thursday May 6th  1999 - 2:13am -Donna- Tisdale apartment 502

Donna stepped away and hung the painting up on the wall before taking a seat she gestured for Waylon to join them. "We don't got any refreshments but feel to sit for a spell. So how did your clan meeting go?"

"I meant no disrespect Angel.  I was simply making the offer of helping to provide her with a place to live nothing more.  Even though I do see some remarkable potential in her.  But I did anticipate that you saw the same thing already had made some plans for the young lady.  My offer of paying for her apartment, no string attached, still stands.  She doesn't even have to know that I am the one providing it.  All I ask is that you give it a little thought."

"We're reeling," Waylon said simply.  "I'm not sure why the Sabbat backed off.  Maybe they did more damage then they expected.  Maybe they lost interest in the city now that it's in ruins.  I don't know.  We've got a chance to rebuild things with a little more influence on how the city develops but with all the Clans fighting for the choicest pieces I doubt anything is going to get done.  I'm trying to buy us a little goodwill by donating the profits from a print series to the city but I'm not sure how it's going to go over."

He chose a seat beside Donna.  "As well as can be expected when you get a bunch of artists together.  It's amazing that we can get anything done at all.  And the art fag act is getting tired."  He smiled.  "Hanging out with Iggy and Scottie was the best thing that has happened to me since I discovered crayons."

Doug dropped down on the nearest comfy spot and propped his feet up while listening to Waylon's response. When he had finished he gave a deep barking laugh, "It's sounding like you're more a Brujha in spirit than some Brujah I've met Waylon. As for why the Sabbat backed off, I'd keep digging. Based on what little I know at this, they came in well organized and knowing exactly what they were doing. Even most Malkavian's wouldn't put that much effort into something without a concrete goal. My bet is they were after something and until we know what that something is I wouldn't get too relaxed. Thats just my opinion, I could be wrong."

"I'll keep that in mind, Morgan,"  Angel said.  "Trust me, Dee's welfare is very much in my mind.  You're right, she has a lot of potential.  Our meeting was truly serendipitous.  She's already proven to be worth her weight in gold more than once.  she has a knack for being in the right place at the right time.  She is a capital 'A' asset and I intend to make sure she gets treated like one."

Donna chuckled. "Not sure how much art you will get to experince here unless you consider finger painting with blood to be fun. Mind you Iggy is our resident artist. Its just a shame that cunt refuses to let anything of his into her museum, no offense to your leader but a spade is a spade. Iggy has talent. With all things aside our meeting went well enough. We talked we then argued. The fist fought and then went out for a bite to eat. Pretty much par for the course."

"I understand Angel.  You don't have to worry about me trying anything with her.  She is yours and yours alone."  Morgan was a little disappointed that he would not get to groom Dee but he didn't let it show.  That was just the way thing went.  And Angel was right.  It must have been fate that brought those two together.  He would just have to keep his eyes open for any potential recruits.  In the mean time he was glad he was able to smooth things over with Angel, at least a little bit.  The last thing he needed was to ruffle feathers when he hadn't even been presented at Court yet.  "Shall we rejoin the others now?"

"Sounds like a jock party," Waylon said with a chuckle.  "I've experienced one or two of those.  Unfortunately I usually ended up head down in a garbage can, until I started taking escrima.  I understand what you're saying, Doug.  You're right.  What they did doesn't make a whole lot of sense.  They hit too hard for it just to be a case of kicking the dog.  I don't know what they wanted in Whitehern but they expended a lot of resources trying to get it.  I'm not sure if they managed or not.  They fucked up one of the Prince's ghouls pretty badly.  Folded her into a ball like wet clay.  Creepiest thing I ever saw."

Waylon wasn't going to admit that for a fleeting moment he'd wanted that power, to sculpt in flesh, rather than clay or stone.

When the meeting was over, Fia took some time to reflect.

Mel's definitely dead, probably Manson, too. He was such a good dog...

Fia had met Mel shortly after she had moved to Hamilton. They had bonded over they're mutual love of animals. Mel had sheltered her from the sun, and had kept her fed, but Fia had always felt that she'd had ulterior motives. Now Fia didn't have the chance to find out what they were.

"Sounds like a plan to me.  Keep your eyes open though.  You might get lucky."  Angel wasn't going to mention the young woman he was adding to his herd.  She fit nicely into Morgan's feeding needs as well.  He'd considered it as a welcoming gift, so to speak but the man's interest in Dee had ended any chance of him being that generous of a host.  He led the way back to his small apartment.  "Do you have any particular pillow you favour?  Down filled or foam?"

Thursday May 6th, 1999 2:06- 2:13 a.m.  - -  Double Angel Studios  - - Dee

A hot shower was somthing she could never say no to. Living on the street meant never really getting a chance to fully shower. She liked being clean and it was one of the things she missed the most about being a street kid.

Meeting Angel had been a stroke of luck. She was making money. She had a place to stay and now she had her eyes opened to the fact that there were things that went bump in the night and she got to see exactly what those things were.

It was a bit freaky but cool at the same time.

She lathered her hair and enjoyed the hot steamy water as she ran the soap over her body.

The music in her head made her tap her feet she began to sing. She was feeling much more lively having washed the fever sweat from her frame.

"I'd listen to the words he'd say
but in his voice I heard decay
The plastic face forced to portray
all the insides left cold and gray..."

She paused to rinse the shampoo out of her hair. "There is a place that still remains
it eats the fear it eats the pain
The sweetest price he'll have to pay
the day the whole world went away...."

She was content to hum the rest of the tune as she finished rising the soap from her body. it would be nice to just stay in the shower and use up the water but... She though perhaps it be polite to save some for the vampires.

"I get along with them pretty well," Waylon responded.  "I like and respect Helen, despite prevailing opinion.  She's got a hard job, trying to keep us all in line and safe.  We aren't exactly the most co-operative.  Artists tend to be very vain and very individualistic.  I'm going to miss Papillion.  I like Jallyn and Vincent but their Sire is a bit of a pompous ass.  And of course we have a new one but she was late to the meeting so Helen is likely going to keep her after class."

At first Angel thought Dee might have had the radio on in the bathroom but when the voice lapsed into humming he realized that it couldn't have been the case.  "I'll be damned," he said.

Dee had once said she occasionally sang with a friend to help him bring in money while busking.  She hadn't mentioned how good she was.  He pulled out his cell phone but swore when Vincent's line went straight to his answering service.

"Vincent, it's Angel.  Call me when you get a chance.  I've got somebody you might want to check out."

Thruseday May 6th, 1999 2:11 a.m. - Somewhere in St. Kitts - Papillion Frambois

Vincents cell phone went off and when the Toreador answered he was greated with a sad little whimper.
"Oh Vinny! Why did you let me go!? I hate it here!"

"Good evening Ma Peche. How are you tonight? You don't sound well. St. Kitts is taking some getting used to is it?" Vincent sat up and cupped the phone. "Excuse me its a phone call I have to take Andy, Seth. Its Papillion."

"I am TERRIBLE tonight." the girl cried but then got a hold of herself, it was clear from her voice that at the other end of the line his childe had a face streaked with bloody tears. She breathed a few moments. Getting control of the tone and volume of her voice.
"Vincent I want to come home." She said firmly but there was an indignant undertone, a certain trauma she'd yet to reveal.

Vincents tone took on a nurturing and soothing nature as he wandered into the bathroom for some privacy. "k tell me whats wrong my dear. I know this is really your first time venturing off on your own. It surely cant be as bad as you think it is." He chuckled "I could tell you what happened to me when I left my sire for the first time if you wanted. "

Papilion pulled her knees up under her chin curling herself into a ball in the big squashy armchair in the hotel room where she was staying until they could find more suitable accommodations. All things considered, it was a very nice room she could say that much. She smiled into the phone, the tone in Vincent's voice was one she could always think on fondly, it made one almost want to purr. "Well you could regale me but I doubt it would help...They're very....Strange here. I didn't expect it."

"Really? I would have thought that you would have had no problem. I did call and let Clarence know you were coming and he seemed thrilled to have you, so whats so wrong?"

She squirmed in her seat groaning in response. The embarrassment was too much. She didn't want to have to tell him, why couldn't he just play soft Vincent and say 'Come home at once! I've missed you terribly!' Why did he have to play understanding Vincent,  didn't he know that made her want to tell him! And oh, the indignity... "He wanted me to dance for him..." She said cautiously.

"Well of course he did ma peche. You e a wonderful dancer. You are as graceful as a gazelle. The night you accepted the embrace I wept." Vincent said a smile graced his lips as he closed his eyes and sat on the edge of the tub.

Another smile cracked her sour demeanor. "Oh ma cheri you're too much..." Papilion paused a moment then took a deep breath though her lungs didn't need the oxygen. She covered her face with a hand as though to hide her embarrassment from him though he couldn't see her. "He wanted me to..." she spoke through her fingers and then moved her hand so he could hear her clearly. "He wanted me to take off my clothes Vincent. He thought i was a...a-a-a common stripper!"

"Oh Pappy my dear. If you were here I'd hug you now. It is true I didn't say you were ballet but I thought for sure we would look at you and know you were by far more talented than a pole dancing bimbo."

There was something thrown agains the bathroom door and Vincent heard Seth exclaim "I heard that!"

"I'm not mocking your childe Brother." Vncent exclaimed.  "Now if you'd excuse me I'm trying to talk in private..."   Vincent sighed. "Sorry about that were all crammed in an apartment and its trying. Seth, Jallyn myself and Andy. Shes new she came from St Catherines as well. Shes a scuptor."

Papilion chuckled lightly into the mouth piece, their sibling banter had always been amusing. "Apartment you say? Ma Cheri I could have given you all use of my home it wasn't touched in the...Blast." That too was hard to say. "And a sculpture? Is she any good? I hope she isn't replacing me too fabulously." She joked with a smile.

"You know that in my heart no matter how good she is, I'll think you were better."

"Oh listen to you. That means she is good then you just don't want me to be jealous." She couldn't help but smile she was feeling much better just from being able to talk to Vincent. "I want to come home Vincent. I NEED to come home. I miss you...I miss Hamilton...I'm NOT becoming a stripper."

"Then come come. Tell Clarence that you are homesick and that Hamilton needs you. I am sure he will understand. Also... I do miss you. Its not the same without you here. You always managed to brighten the room when you entered. Like a summer's sun. We could really use that since its all doom and gloom. Mind you, the meeting tonight wasn't so fun. Helen has declared that we vote to have Fia put to death. And she IS the leader so we have to kowtow."

"WHAT!? FIA!? Just...Just cause of that homeless guy!?" Papillion stood in her rage knocking the hotel phone from it's table making her have to jump for it. She put the phone back and looked to the clock.
"I have to go if I'm going to be there by morning. Kiss kiss love I'll be seeing you soon." And with that Papillions voice was gone from the other line and it was replaced with dead air.

Meanwhile in her hotel room dresses and shoes were thrown back into suit cases willy nilly, something her OCD did not appreciate. She stripped from her robe and began to dress properly for the drive home from her mope wear, her cell pressed to her ear as she waited for Helen to answer while she zipped her suitcases. And clamped her trunk. Why did she bring so much stuff!? Helen pick up...

Andy chilled back on the sofa, basking in the glow of her fellow Toreadors.

So many new faces to turn into dolls! Yay! Go to hell fickle, muse!

She was trying to decide who to make first. Jallyn had that hair and those eyes. She would translate well.

The Delvecchio brothers would make a nice set...

"And as I was saying I had the chance to actually see your 'Chump Monkeys in Chains' in New York last month. That must have been elating to see your work in a museum of that size." He smiled it was warm and inviting as he leaned in looking expectant. "So what made you decide to venture into sculpting dolls? I dare say that the art would have less impact than your previous full size sculptures..."

Donna had been silent listening to the two banter lost in her thought when Doug made his question to Waylon. She sat up a bit staighter and reached for another cigarette as she waited to see what would be said. She hadn't considered the fact that Waylon would willingly pass on clan info.

"Gilipollez!" Donna muttered softly to herself as she shook her head. It was like the cow to make her voice the only one heard. "So the others felt the same way? Doug blinked in surprise and shock, "I didn't realize you had such a strong opinion on the matter. As I understand it, it was an act of self-defense committed in a time of war working under the authority of the prince. Those seem like pretty mitigating circumstances to me. Why such a strong opinion on it?"
