Thursday April 23rd, 12:43  - Dundas Bruce Trail

Boogie was getting that nasty itchy feeling at the back of his neck, the one that usually told him that he was in particularly deep shit.  Lobo lay corpse still on the ground.  The rain dripping through the trees was washing some of the blood off the fallen Gangrel's face.  He wasn't Finally Dead but he showed no signs of awakening any time soon, not yet.

And the itchy feeling at the back of Boogie's neck was getting worse.  It might have been his imagination but it seemed that there were things moving through the trees towards him, dark as night and silent as death.

"Are you sure you're not a Brujah?"  Angel asked, shaking his head.  "You certainly sound like one."

Speaking of Brujah, what the Hell is up with Iggy?  Hes turned into such a fucking tool.  It's like he's decided that his life's goal is to sabotage anything I'm trying to do.  The only thing he's really doing is making things harder for us and easier for the Sabbat.

"I'm not sure if anybody mentioned this to either of you but I don't think we're in this for prisoners.  These guys won't know shit and the big guns aren't likely to let themselves get caught.  If we do come across one of their war leaders, we let David call the shots on him.  You may be good Hearst but this guy has likely sucked back at least one other clan, so he's got a few tricks up his sleeve that you won't be expecting.  He's not somebody you can  take on in a one on one fight and expect him to play by the rules.  I get the impression you live or die by your own personal code.  In this case, I'd expect him to try to cheat you to death."

" Am i Brujah ,,,,, am i ventrue  am i toreador.... to   answer that question   angel i have an answer.  I am ventrue, i am also brujah i am also  gangrel i am also  toreador  i am of all clans and yet of  none  for in truth  ," Hearst  replies  with eagerness, "  I feel I am  from the family of hamilton and i wish to defend and protect  and honor my family." Hearst pauses  to let out a deep bellowed   laugh. Continuing  hearst  says through laughter, "boy did that  sound pretentious or what.  But i do mean it. regardless of clan  we are  kindred of  hamilton  and unless we  fight and band togetehr  we will all die.  Sorry to be morose  about it  Rory, I know you are nervous enough already  but that is the fact  we must   unite or we die  period." Laghing   again  Hearst   wide grinned and laughing says, " now as to your other point  Angel about  a personal code.  yes i  try to live  with honor  when i can. But  understand  this about  me, i like a good challenge  but there  are 2 rules in a fight  and i have  learned those rules   the hard  way more then once.  Rule number 1---  there are no rules, it is kill  or be killed when it gets to  physical confrontation,  Rule  number 2 --  and this is the important one--------  ALWAYS FOLLOW RULE NUMBER 1.  so lets have  at   and bring on   this war chief  and let  feed him his own testicles  on a fork  LOL  Man  that is a nasty image to have in your  head   .. someone being fed their own testicles on a plate.  can ya`ll  picture that   OMG   that is too funny  a picture

"That's fine," Rory voiced after Angel explained about taking prisoners, "I'll just do whatever I need to t' make this plan work... Whatever it is."

Rory smiled, finally confident. "To tell you the truth Hearst," she spoke, "I might've been nervous about this whole fight before, but now... I'm just itchin' to see what David's plan is, really!"

The tension had let her become a bit jittery, but she tried not to let her effect her. The Gangrel knew that anything she felt in excess before battle, even something positive that might normally help her, could hinder her if she let it go out of hand. Still, the urge to get out of the truck and move about nipped at her. She was like a play-ready dog cooped up in a kennel.

"Screw the plate, they'd just better hope I don't decide to bring back Cash ball or two t' play fetch!" the youngest amongst the Kindred said, giving a tiny giggle and a child-like smile tinged with embarrassment. Her passion had returned, but she wasn't without her timidity.

"Remind me never to piss you off,"  Angel said to Rory.  "No rules except to win, eh Hearst?  I'd suggest one very minor modification and make it three rules.  The third rule is, if you are getting your ass kicked, ignore rules one and two and do whatever it takes to survive.  Play dead, pretend to change sides, run like a goddamn coon but do whatever it takes to survive.  After all, we can't thank you for killing half the bad guys if the other half kills you."

They were getting close to their destination.  Angel wasn't sure where David was taking them, so he allowed the Malkavian elder to take the lead and fell in behind the green Neon.  The rain coming in his broken window was annoying but at least he had the temporary shelter of the truck.  Soon they would all be drenched.  The chill would not affect them but it might prey on the psyche of those who were still in their early nights as vampires.

"hmm   Angel you rasie an interesting point  there about a third rule   but  i am not sure  about that rule  not sure how i  feel about your third rule.  If you  can't thank  me  for killing the first half because   the second half killsme   .....(laughing  abit   while he finishes   speaking).....  well i guess  we will  just  have to work together as a team  and kill both  halves and thank each other when it is done."  Hearst  replied, " now are we    there yet   the anticipation is gonna killme  fastewr then any   idiotic sabbat  could"

"Another five minutes, more or less,"  Angel said.  "Depending on where David is taking us.  I say we'll be seeing combat by one or we won't be seeing it at all."  He slid the 9 mm Mauser out from under his jacket.  "Last chance to check your hardware."

Thursday April 23rd, 12:30pm - Hamilton - Sabbat

All in all, four fires had been set, three of them lighting up havens.  The fourth escaped by sheer circumstance.  The address given had been slightly off and it wasn't the Tisdale apartments that went up but rather a house across the road.  It was a small mercy.  The Sabbat wasn't finished their night's work, not by a long shot.

"It's almost time,"  Sam said.  "I'm going to go get into position."

Morgana chuckled.  "I'll be along.  I want to watch the light show."

"Don't be too long,"  the Samedi said.  "I'll be needing the reinforcements."

"We'll be there,"  Morgana said.  "With bells on so they can find us in the dark."

OOC:  This is a recap of where everyone is, at or around 12:30 am.  Lobo and Boogie are, of course closer to 12:45 am but they know where they are.

At Whitehern, we have NPCs Antigen, Helen, Mark as well as Chantal, Dee and several unnamed ghouls.  PCs are Waylon and Fia.

In Dundas, we have Lobo and Boogie.

Heading into Dundas, we have NPC David and PCs Angel, Hearst and Rory.

Heading into Burlington, we have NPC Scott and PCs Kasper, Emily and Cera.

Downtown, watching St Joseph's hospital, we have NPC Sarah and PCs Vic, Athial, Tamara

Downtown, watching the GO Station, we have NPC Donna and PC Calvin

Downtown, watching Tailgate Charlies (and other places) we have NPC Nat (Des) and PC Iggy

And we have no idea where PCs Jareth or Papillion are, because neither of their players have specified.  I'd very much like for them to choose.  I will be posting for each small grouping hopefully by tomorrow night.

Thank you for your patience.

Thursday April 23rd, 12:45 am - Dundas - David, Angel, Rory & Hearst

David parked the car in the school parking lot, a stone's throw from the Dundas driving park.  He inhaled deeply, tasting the night air.  "Gather close,"  he said to the kindred who piled out of Angel's rented truck. "Hopefully I'll only have, have, have, have to say this once.  I'm your scout and your sneak.  Stay close behind me.  When I see something, I'll do a quick, quick, quick, quick, quick fade and check it out.  I'll come back and tell you if it is anything to worry about.  If I say run, run as if the very devil himself is hunting you down with plans to gouge out your eyes and rape your skull.  Don't come here.  Head for the beer store we passed on the way into town.  If I don't make it to you within half an hour, head back to Hamilton."  He looked directly at Hearst.  "Is that clear, clear, clear, clear, clear to everyone?"

A vein was starting to throb at David's temple.

Thursday April 23rd, 12:45 am - Hamilton - St Joseph's Hospital - Sarah, Vic, Athial and Tamara

It had taken a few minutes for the group to reassemble, since Vic had insisted on finding his own ride to the hospital.  Sarah had elected to set up in the park across the street from the hospital.  It offered the vampires cover and yet allowed them to watch three of the four sides of the hospital.  Antigen's ghouls were watching the fourth side, the emergency room.

The hospital was not quite under lockdown  but there were signs indicating that due to an outbreak of measles, visitations had been suspended.  Vic knew the truth, however.  He had friends who were in a position to pull out all the stops when it came to protecting the hospital.

Thursday April 23rd, 12:45 am - Hamilton - GO Station - Donna & Calvin

The Brujah elder's missing arm was drawing its share of covert stares, which meant that Calvin was, for the most part, ignored.  There were few buses loading and unloading at that late hour.  Hamilton, unlike most cities of similar size, seemed to close down after eleven at night.  There were still transients around, as well as some late night travelers, enough food to attract hungry kindred and an important transportation hub, both of which might serve to attract the Sabbat.

Thursday April 23rd, 12:45 am - Hamilton - Tailgate Charlie's - Des (Nat) & Iggy

Des and Iggy slipped out the back door of the Embassy and made there way a few short blocks to the next potential trouble spot on their list.  Even midweek, the meat market known as Tailgate Charlie's was doing booming business.   Des was granted free access, while Iggy was made to pay a cover charge if he wanted to enter with her.  They had barely stepped inside when  Des leaned over to whisper in Iggy's ear.

"Can you tell which ones aren't human?  David didn't give me any potions for that."

Thursday April 23rd, 12:45 am - Burlington - Scott, Kasper, Emily and Cera.

Scott wasn't happy about the trip into Burlington.  He'd been far more interested in standing shoulder to shoulder with the others of his clan, representing for Hamilton.  Instead he was doing what he was told, cruising up Brant street, looking for Sabbat vampires to drive out of Burlington.  It was likely going to be a thankless job.  "Keep your eyes open,"  he said, cautioning the kindred he'd been put in charge of.  "The Sabbat were strong enough to tear Donna's arm off but not strong enough to kill her.  That means they're still tough enough to do a number on any of us, so stay sharp."

Thursday April 23rd, 12:45 am - Hamilton - Whitehern - Antigen, Helen, Mark, Dee Waylon & Fia.

Fia arrived in the meeting room, only to find it occupied by the Prince and the Ventrue elder.  Their conversation stopped upon her arrival, leaving an uncomfortable silence that was broken when Mark's cell phone rang.  He answered on the third ring and after a few seconds, went pale, even for a vampire.  He looked at Antigen, a stricken expression on his face.  "They set fire to Vincent's house,"  he said.  "They're starting to target our havens and they know where they are."

"yes" Hearst realized  this  was a comment mroe directed at him   then any  other," if you do not make it to us  within  a half hour  then it is  to hamilton.....  that is  understood,  someone  must make it back to  Hamilton and inform those there of what  happened  or did not happen.   So  yes to  Hamilton we   run as fast as we can. Do not worry    david  to hamilton we will go .............I will make sure  that the information makes it back to hamilton."   Thinking to himself with a side  long glance back  at Angel and Rory,  we discussed this all on the way  here . we are a team   and you are the leader . You devise the plan and we follow it.  Right  Angel, Rory.........................In the case of you not making it back to us  then we run to hamilton....... Angel  iwill cover  the  flight  in that case  you will make sure Rory   and yourself make it to hamilton.    You are  both   quicker  then i and i am   very able to  form  and  retreating wall  to  block you r  flight...."

Thursday April 23rd, 12:45 am - 12:49 am - Burlington - Scott, Kasper, Emily and Cera.

"Isn't that assuring," Emily mumbled under her breath while staring out at the charcoal sky. "No sign yet, but I'll scream bloody murder if I see anything," she grinned at Scott before continuing to watch the scenery blur by. "Could you consider slowing down a bit please. Last thing we need is to pass them by, if they're even out here."

An uncomfortable silence had filled the cabin of the car giving them the opportunity to fully consider what might happen that night. Many thoughts had already gone through Emily's head, from that fact that if she were to die, what would happen to her. Would they leave her where she was due to the fact that she found herself to be morbidly overweight. She hadn't made up any sort of will for her things to go to anyone. Could vampires even have wills? Then a thought came to her. "Hey guys. If I dont make it through this war, could you make sure that Nat... or Des, rather, gets all my stuff? Teach her to use a gun and make sure she stays safe... I know she's not in your clan or whatever, but could you do that?" Silence again. "What do you really think we're going to expect in Burlington anyways? Any sort of hunches, theories, or feelings?"

Thursday April 23rd, 12:45  - Dundas Bruce Trail

Lobo still hadn't begun to stir and Boogie was certain that the Sabbat were in the trees moving towards him.  He just couldn't see well enough to be certain of his targets.

"Take him down boys,"  a voice called out.  "Soon you'll taste the sweetest of all nectar and if anyone doesn't deserve to keep it, it's this damned fool."

Thursday April 23rd, 12:46 am - Dundas - David, Angel, Rory & Hearst

The four began moving through the darkness towards the escarpment.  The concrete that made up the supports for the Sydenham hill road were dimly visible in the distance.  There were train tracks ahead of them as well.  The small span of bridge that crossed a small creek loomed dark and forbidding.

For such a short man David moved with surprising speed over the uneven terrain.  It was an effort for the others to keep up.  Perhaps he was trying to prove that he was at the very minimum their physical equal.  Or maybe he just wanted to get it all over with quickly so he could go home and get out of the rain.

Thursday April 23rd, 12:46 am - Hamilton - St Joseph's Hospital - Sarah, Vic, Athial and Tamara

A minivan came to a stop at the light that stopped traffic coming down the Jolley Cut from the mountain.  It might not have caused any notice except for the fact that the driver's aura seemed far too pale.  It might have been a trick of the light but it wasn't one of those things that could be risked under the circumstances.

The light turned green and the van started to move, pulling right past where Sarah's team were waiting.  The passenger, visible through the open window, was also too pale to be human.

Thursday April 23rd, 12:46 am - Hamilton - GO Station - Donna & Calvin

"Go check the bathroom,"  Donna said, nodding towards the door to the men's room.  "Great place to pick up a quick bite, if you know what I mean.  Everybody pretends they're alone in their, so they ignore odd noises."  She headed towards the other bathroom.  The newest Sabbat recruits were all men but that didn't mean the original batch were and they'd been indiscriminate about who they'd embraced on the first night.

Thursday April 23rd, 12:46 am - Hamilton - Tailgate Charlie's - Des (Nat) & Iggy

The ebb and flow of the crowd seemed to be undisturbed by any untoward influences.  People laughed and drank, came together and drew apart.  All in all it seemed a normal night.  Many people assumed the two kindred were together as a couple and, other than the occasional lingering look of appraisal, they were left to their own devices.

Thursday April 23rd, 12:46 am - Burlington - Scott, Kasper, Emily and Cera.

"My feeling is that you should shut the fuck up about not coming back,"  Scott replied.  "Ghouls, in answer to you're other question.  We're looking for ghouls.  Sabbat brought in a bunch of them.  Now, is it just me or does that group look a little suspicious?"

There were nearly a dozen people on the sidewalk, all carrying improvised weapons of some sort, ranging from axe handles to crowbars.  Many of them were already splattered with blood.  Scott waited until he was closer, then stomped on the gas pedal.  The car lurched forward and the biker made sure he drove through the thickest part of the pack.

"We must trust the fire department to do what they are paid for,"  Antigen said calmly.  He seemed like a haven of stoic strength, unfazed and unflappable.  "In the meantime, let Vincent know he'll need to find another place to bed down by morning.  Fia?  Is there something you wanted?"
