The Sabbat vampire backpedaled, trying to use the darkness to his advantage.  The ground was slippery with rain and the mud made for uncertain footing.  At home behind the pistol, he wasn't at home in the woods.  Hearst pursued him, his blade cutting another slice into the man's torso.  This time there was a satisfying sensation of steel cutting flesh behind the blow.

It didn't stop him from firing again, however and Hearst felt the bullet sear across his cheek, narrowly missing his eye.

Iggy watched the Sabbatt speed out off the bus unto Fia.  Chuckling still to himself Iggy closed the distance and swung his sledge at the Sabbat's side hoping the impact would dislodge the foul creature from his fellow Hamiltonian.  "That not a nice way to address a lady," looking at Fia he added, "are we just killing this one or are you still hungry?"

OCC Celerity and Potence are kicked in still.

OOC:  Iggy is using a hammer, not an axe.

Iggy's hammer swung down hard but even as the Brujah prepared for the shudder of the impact, he felt the weight change.  The wedge holding the head on must have been loosened by the night's events because the head of the hammer flew off in a low arc, bouncing once before skittering to a stop against Donna's shin.  She swore once, grabbed the piece of iron and proceeded to use it to pummel her already badly battered opponent with barely a change in the rhythm of her punching.

<(cough) Botch (cough)>

Fia's flurry of flying fists finally forced her foe away but didn't seem to deter him.  He grinned, her blood running down his chin.  "You're fiesty.  I like that." There was something compelling about his eyes, something that made Fia want to stand stock still, like a bird frozen by the hypnotic gaze of the snake that had come upon it unawares.  "Life on this side of the fence ain't so bad.  You'd like it with us.  Nobody giving you shit about who you eat."  He was moving, trying to keep away from Iggy without taking his eyes off of Fia.

OOC: Fia, you cannot look away or move unless you spend Willpower.

Hearst was fading but only in strength, not in spirit.  His enemy was a bully, used to those who cowered from his guns but intimidated by those who had courage.  His fear could be head in his voice.  "Why won't you fucking die?"

He pulled the trigger again, his eyes flashing white in the lightning as Hearst's weapons came down.  To Hearst's ears it sounded as if there were two shots not one and he felt the impact along his arm before he felt anything in his chest.  He was falling into darkness but he was sure his enemy was falling as well.

David caught the Ventrue as he was falling, silently cursing the fact that he was too late.  Behind him came Angel, the barrel of his gun still smoking faintly.  Although he would never admit it, Angel was astonished that he'd managed to make the shot.  He kept the weapon trained on the fallen Sabbat while Rory searched around for a piece of wood to drive through his heart.

"We can always just kill him later if we don't need him, him, him, him, him, him," David said, nodding.  "But if he moves before you stake him, blow his head off.  Stay with Hearst and make sure that other one is dead too.  I'm going to scout, scout, scout ahead."

The sledge clattered to the pavement.  Iggy looked at the wooden shaft, shrugged, aimed roughly for the heart and slammed it through the Sabbatt's chest,  - with something as large as the hammer shaft  a near miss would work.  "Sorry, Fia technical difficulties, guess that leaves us just the one option.  But staking seems so much less fun, maybe he'll twitch for us anyway, eh."

Fia's shoulder throbbed. Blood was still pouring out. She put pressure there, even though she knew it wasn't going to do any good.

"Do you think this might be my Karma?" she asked with a chuckle, face grim, "At this rate, I'll never reach Nirvana."

Nat rushed up to watch Iggy and Fia going at it with the kindred. She looked over to Donna who was busily taking her frustrations out on a guy on the ground. Unsure of what to do she looked to the vampires around her. "Uh you guys want me to scope out inside to make sure theres no baddies in there if you guys got things under control?"

The Sabbat vampire seemed to collapse under Iggy's blow but straightened with a laugh.  "Wiffer!"  he jeered, trying to hide the tear is his shirt that Iggy's savage thrust had left behind.  His ribs were smarting but the wound wasn't serious.  "Hey, doll, you should lose the bald guy and the kid and come talk with us.  You'd learn a few things about the lies your leaders have told you.  It would make your fucking hair curl."

He was trying to find a place that allowed him to keep an eye on each of the four Sabbat vampires on the platform.  Donna was making short work of his back-up and he really didn't like the odds.

OOC:  Figured as much.  It's an automatic action, once you're unconcious as long as you have blood points in your pool.  If you don't have enough to wake up, you drop into torpor.

"Some dogs don't know when to lie still."  Iggy removed the axe handle form the hole in the Sabbatt chest. "Heart didn't work, guess I'll just have to remove the brains."  And with that Iggy rained two solid (Celerity & potence is still up) cracks to the back of the Sabbatt's head.

David returned just as Hearst was starting to stir.  "We have dead, dead, dead to carry,"  he said, shaking his head.  "I found the New York biker.  He's been drained.  I also found signs that they, they, they, they, they killed the Nosferatu, Jeromy."  He looked at Hearst and ruffled the Ventrue's hair.  "Good, good, good, good, good to see you're still with us.  I wasn't sure we were going to catch up in time.  Oh, and you can hang up now, Angel.  I found the phone.  It's been put to good use."

The Malkavian shook his head.  "I still don't know where Lobo is.  It didn't look like they were taking him with them.  I've got some more solid information though, which means we need to get back to the Prince.  I hope nobody stops us on the way back into Hamilton, because we're going to be loading your truck up with bodies, Angel.  How far up this way can you get it?"

"It's a 4x4,"  Angel answered.  "I can park it where you're standing."

"Then do it,"  David said.  "Take Rory with you for back-up.  I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll stay here with Hearst and make sure he's okay until you get back."

He was fast enough to evade the first blow but not the second.  The Sabbat vampire reeled backwards.  "Fuck, man!  I'm trying to have a conversation with the lady, so back the fuck off!"  He locked his eyes on Iggy and the Brujah came to a dead stop, falling into the endless depths of the other vampire's eyes, unable to move, unable to break away, unable to do anything but look endlessly into those fascinating eyes....

(Hurricanus, just like Fia, you will have to burn Willpower to perform any action, for as long as the Sabbat is maintaining eye contact.  You can speak but not move.)

"This violence is senseless,"  said a voice from a shadowed doorway.  "There is a more dangerous enemy for all of us than the opposing sects.  If we fight each other, we weaken both sides and in doing so guarantee our enemies victory.  In the absence of greater authority, I ask you all to stop fighting so we can speak civilly."  The words were almost lost amid the scuffle but they were audible to those who chose to listen.

Fia felt a warm tingle towards her crazy little friend. Her eyes darted between Iggy and Some Dick, which she decided was perfectly suitable for him, thinking frantically about how she was going to get herself out of this. And get a meal. And meet Chaz...

Oh, crap! I still have to make up for that one...

"Civilly... Sounds like a big fat trap to me," she blew an errant strand of indigo out of her eyes, "What's with the we? Who are you to us?"

"I am as you are,"  the voice said and the speaker almost stepped out of the doorway and into the light but didn't quite come forward enough to show himself.  "We are Kindred of the later generations and if we continue to weaken each other, we will be prey for those who are beginning to stir in their long forgotten graves.  The blood of the Kine will not sustain them.  It is our blood, yours and mine that will go to glut their hunger.  I was opposed to this invasion from the beginning and now that I am free of my keeper, I can do what we should have done in the first place; speak out like the civilized person I am.  Don't waste your time with the hatchling snake.  He hasn't been one of us long enough to know the truth."

"What the fuck are you trying to do, Sam?"  the Sabbat neonate cried, almost but not quite breaking eye contact with Iggy.  "Are you trying to get me killed?"

"My dear boy, haven't you figured it out?  You're already dead."

Iggy stared transfixed at the Sabbat in front of him.  Paralysed as he was Iggy's mind raged at his attacker.  His body trembled from the Brujahian struggle to force his body into motion.  Iggy concentrated all his will on just one action - swinging the sledge hammer into the face staring at him.  With all that is Iggy, the big Brujah pushed his arm into action.

I must swing! I will swing! Once more!

Thursday April 23rd, 12:30 - 12:55 a.m.  - -  Xiaoqing  - - Dundas
HP: 2 (7)  WP: 5 (5)  BP: 9 (13)  Hum: 7 (7)  SC: 3 (3)

Xiao awoke and found herself sitting in a chair; bound, gagged, hungry and total pissed off.  It took a moment for her to realize that the chair she was tied to was sitting in her own living room.... that just made her even more pissed.  She could hear people moving around but her vision was still too fuzzy to really get a good look at them.  A cold breeze hit her as the front door opened and then closed.  It was then that she realized that she had been stripped down to her bra and panties.  Then the pain hit her; not just from where the tree branch had gone through her chest and back but all over her arms and legs as well.  After a moment her vision had cleared enough that she could take stock of her situation.  And it didn't look good.  She could make out at least 5 outlines moving around the house, one was definitely the big bastard that had staked her. Xiao squeezed her eyes shut for a minute then opened them again.  This time her vision was clear, at least clear enough to make out faces.  Looking down at her own body she noticed the dozens of bite marks covering her.  The bastards had been snacking on her.  A strangled growl escaped her throat.  She tested the ropes binding her wrists and got lucky, they broke away with just a little bit of effort.  No one was paying her any attention so she quietly leaned down and undid her ankles.  Then she took the gag from her mouth, braced herself and bolted for the back door.

Xiao was a good 100 yards from the house before she heard the cries of alarm go up.  She steeled herself and put on an extra burst of speed and headed straight for the hill that was on the other side of the train tracks.  Leaping over the tracks in a single jump, she reached the hill and was at least half way up before the Sabbat made it to the bottom.  She didn't bother looking back but kept climbing, rocks and sticks cutting into her bare flesh.  As she made it to the top she heard a call from below, "Go ahead and run little one.  We will catch you again and you won't fair so well next time."  The tone in that voice sent a chill through her. Just before she headed down the other side of the hill and into the woods Xiao took a quick look back and saw her pursuers turning around.  That was something she had not expected, she had thought they would run her to ground.  Not that she was complaining.

She headed into the woods and made for the general direction she had last seen the rest of her team.  Before she had gone more than a dozen feet she had to stop as it was too damn dark to see.  She growled again and then her eyes started to glow red and she could see just fine.  Xiao headed off again at a fast trot dodging low hanging branches and large rocks.  As she grew closer to the area where she had gone down she started to hear gunshots ring out.  "It's about time back up showed up," she fairly spat.  She increased her speed and angled towards the sounds of fighting, not making any efforts to conceal her approach.  When she was close enough to be heard clearly she called out to her fellow kindred, "Think one of you gentlemen could lend a lady your jacket?"  She wasn't watching where she was going and almost stepped on the salt that had been poured on the ground.  Xiao jumped back just in time, "God damn it all to hell!  Who the hell poured all this damn salt on the ground?"

She made a wide berth around the area covered in salt and went to join the rest of the Hamilton crew.  There were several new faces in the mix but she didn't have time for that right now. "It's good to see all of you.  David," she made a slight bow even though he was not of her clan and definatly not her elder.  "Those damn bastards have taken over my haven."

Thursday April 23rd,  12:55 - 1:10 a.m.  - -  Dundas - - David

They all turned with weapons ready to confront the new threat but they were relieved to see that it was one of their own, rather than one of the Sabbat.  Perhaps they had only lost two that night, rather than three.

"Salt?"  the Malkavian asked, frowning.  Then is eyes flew open wide.  "Jesus Christ on a crutch, crutch, crutch, crutch, crutch, crutch, crutch, crutch, clear it away!  They salted the ground so whoever is down there can't come back up!  It's probably Lobo!"

Angel shrugged off his jacket and handed it to Xiaoqing.  It wasn't going to make digging any easier and she needed it for modesty's sake, if not for warmth.  He couldn't help but notice the smooth curve of her legs and how the myriad of bite marks marred them.  "Rain is soaking it into the ground,"  he said.  "It's going to be hard to make sure we clear it all."

"That is one of ours down there,"  David said, scooping up handfuls of salty dirt.  "We are going to get him, him, him, him, him, him, him out of there."

"I said hard, not impossible,"  Angel shot back, digging like a dog.  "Rory, you keep an eye on our dead guys and make sure they stay that way?  Hearst, if you're not too badly hurt can you give us a hand?  We just need to clear the soil that is mixed with salt."

Their hands were torn by the time they hit dry earth, where the water had not yet drawn the salt down to sterilize the soil and prevent the passage of a vampire attempting to meld with the earth.  The Sabbat hadn't known exactly where Lobo had descended so they'd spread the salt liberally, if thinly, over a wide area.  The patchiness made it easier to clear the salt away but it was still hard work.

"He should be able to come up, up, up, up, up, up, if he has a mind to,"  David said.  "I suppose we can wait a few.  In the meantime, I'm going to call in and let the Prince know we've got Xaioqing back and we know where they're holed up.  Maybe he'll send a ghoul squad to watch the place until dawn."  He looked at the Gangrel.  "You look like you've had a rough night.  Are you, you, you, you, you, you okay?"

"Fucking Hell!" the vampire screamed, staggering away from Iggy and holding his head.  His knees almost buckled but he stayed on his feet.  "Fucking bitch lied to me!"  His choice of direction for staggering was poor.  It took him right into Donna, who did nothing more than pause in her pounding of the wet puddle on the concrete long enough to shove him back towards Iggy.

"Children, play nice,"  came the soft voice form the doorway again.  "Killing each other is not the answer."

Xiao excepted the jacket that Angel handed her and slipped into it.  "Thank you Angel."  As they started to clear away the salted earth she took a couple steps backwards, trying to keep as far away from the stuff as possible.  Finally they were through, their hands looking much the worse for wear.  Her mind had slipped into neutral, not really thinking about anything at all.  So when David spoke to her she jumped just a little.  "I will be fine David.  Even better once those Sabbat scum are out of my house."
