OCC: Hi everyone --- LadyJ has asked me to give a rough overview of Henderson Hospital.
Okay here goes. Henderson Hospital is two (count them two) buildings that have been combined. The first and second floors are shared. On the first floor is emergency a large food court (sorry no cafeteria but pizza and donairs for days. (Hmmm yummy healthy snacks at the hospital)) admitting and the bulk hospital's support staff - admin, admitting records cashier and finance. The second floor is the main public clinic areas - the blood lab, the chest clinic, respirology, imaging (ct, xrays MRI etc) and day surgery etc. One last floor is joined - the basement. It houses the mechanicals and such (including the mail room, storage, laundry, morgue and kitchen and yes folks in 1999 the food was still made at Henderson - today it is all made at Chedokee and shipped for nuking at the other hospitals of the HHS or Hamilton Health Services which did exist but was a new thing in 1999).
The third through fifth floors are accessed by separate elevators on either side of the main area. The West building is mainly the cancer wards, clinics (radiation, chemo), cancer support centre, cancer doctors office and research. Because of its Cancer focus it is to a large degree only semi-public in access.
The East building are the main hospital wards. The third floor is rapid turn around cases - fractures, infectious diseases, recovery etc.. The fourth floor is ICU, palliative care and other much more long term patients. The fifth floor is where all the kiddies are - maternity, pediatrics and the like. The east build has a sixth floor - it houses a small psyche ward and a ward for violent or/and criminal patients.
Although it seems large it is one of the smaller hospitals. It actually has a very small footprint but as I showed it the tallest of Hamilton's hospitals. So team Beta - I hope this helps and "have fun storming the castle".
"Do YOU think they'll make it?"
