It's because I've been trying to write my first novel.. I'm on the home stretch now and have only a few chapters to go. I've posted up the prologue on Wattpad.com.

It's called the Black Lotus. Could I ask for you guys to have a look and give me some feedback.

Took a while to figure out which one was yours (Black Lotus seems to be a popular title).  It's an interesting teaser, telling you nothing but suggesting so much.  My only issue is based purely on word choice, simply because you chose words that I would not.  That is just a difference in writing style, rather than a true criticism.

I'm curious to learn the mean and the power behind the lotus symbol.  The suggestion seems to be similar to vampirism but that is neither confirmed nor denied.  You have piqued my interest and that is hard to do with a period piece.

Thanks Maxx. I've put up the first 2 chapters now as well. I've just passed 103,000 words and I'm getting very close to the end of the book. It's still first draft status.. I've done some editing but it's not there yet.

It's taken me 3 years to get to this point.. I've had writers block like you wouldn't believe and the characters took over. (I know that can be a good thing, but I had it planned and the end result looks nothing like the plan)

I've had characters do that to me.  The best thing to do is let them lead.  Moby Dick originally had a different main character, until a minor character just wouldn't stay minor.  His name was Ahab.....

I know all about writers block.  The sequel has been stalled for years, because Dale isn't letting me know where things are going.  She too has it all planned out in her head.  I'm just along to fill in the details but I still need the next section of the roadmap.....
