Post by: LadyJallyn on
I know I suck... Ive been away for a really long time. I've sorted my shit out and want to make this place a bit more active. Call out to any of my fellow nerd/geeks. Whos still around?

So, the thoughts were for a fantasy based RP.  Any preferences?

Anything loosely based on D&D, or Deadlands would be great. Really miss playing Deadlands.

I created a character for Deadlands once.

I had the concept all set, ready to go until I remembered an old song, Big Bad John.

I created a Harrowed miner who was originally from Louisiana and was running from a murder charge.

I'll check with Dale and see if she's interested in a Weird West sort of thing.....

Dale is intrigued but hasn't got any character ideas.

I've got a bunch of NPC ideas, based on the standard western stereotypes.

The crooked judge
The corrupt land owner
The undertaker
the cooper/wagonsmith/carpenter/coffin maker
The town sherriff (potentially the town drunk as well)
the piano player at the saloon
various gunslingers, cowboys and prospectors

I'm thinking a small town in the middle of nowhere, set up to serve the rail road that took a turn or a boom town that ran out the veins of ore sooner than expected.

We will build the world together.

I have all the Deadlands books in hardcopy. I might have them in e-copy as well but I would have to take a look at all my files but probably won't be able to do that till after I move to Nevada and get unpacked some.

I've got all (or at least most) of them in e-copy.  I'm not doing Deadlands exactly but rather a Weird West.  I'm stealing most of my NPC ideas from TV Tropes and GURPS Old West.  Might try and find Boot Hill as well for inspiration.

Dale is having difficulties coming up with ideas.

Hey guys I am trying to think up things but i have always struggled with the early west as a cultural and historical sett8ng. Never really found it near or dear to my heart. With that being said i dont want to be a cliché char archtype as those grt very tiresome very quickly.

Well, we're certainly not going to be historically accurate, that's for sure.

I am going to try my best to be back. Lack of actual computer and doing everything on my phone makes things...interesting. lol

It does indeed Lady_Cynara. You can always try using a computer at the local library. It may not be ideal but at least you would be able to get on a couple times a week or more.
