Title: Shadowrun - Slivers of Light
Post by: Maxx on
I'm restarting Shadowrun as a first step to restarting the entire site.

Anyone interested in creating a character for Shadowrun can post an outline here:  I'm not requiring anybody to know or understand the character creation system.  I'll work with each player to figure out the characters.

A few rules for your character:
No Deckers (aka Netrunners or Neuromancers)
No Shapeshifters
No Insect Shaman
No Blood Mages

Yeah, I think that pretty much does it for now.  I'm sure I'll come up with more later....

I already have a character posted in the old Who's Who of PC's... would like to reclaim her unless you want me to make up a new one.

Matsuma is acceptable.  Did I ever explain why she was having such a hard time around Yurei?

nope we didn't get that far

Cultured Tailored Pheromones.  It bumped his Charisma up by four and made him very sexually attractive to women or dominant to men in close quarters

Now that all these years later I've actually played shadowrun for an appreciable amount of time and hate all the characters I made in the past I think I could put together a no shit runner this time and join in, is the a character sheet?

Standard Elmwood Character profile.  Not using the game system to create characters.

If you want to go by the numbers, go for it.  Almost all the NPCs have stats because they are all old characters of mine.

Hmm might have to do a little research. 4th ed is set a bit later than the time period you are using, and thats what ive been playing. But, I am definately interested and will put together a character. Just one more thing being added to my list of things to do, lol!

Free time is for the weak.

I think I might have 3rd ed and possibly earlier in pdf format that I could send to people if they need them... but I would have to check my rpg book collection to see if I do have them

I know I do.  I also have an antiquated character generator somewhere on one of my computers. NSRCG or something like that....

I happen to be pretty skilled with finding books. Would 3rd ed be the right one to reasearch from?

I believe that is the version I used for mine

3rd works.

Pretty much want to make a street sam, anything you need other than the bio? Any info you want to dump my way so I can put together the character better?

Just the bio will do.  You can get as specific as you want with the cyberware he's carrying.  Essence has to stay above zero.  No cybermancy.

I found that good character generator and have the info all saved if you ever want to peak at it. I'll whip up the regular bio for that as well now. Essence above zero as in can't be under 1 at all (example like 0.5) or above zero as in just not breaking the game with it's 0 cap?

If you can get your essence down to 0.01 you're still good.

Have you got a link to the generator?  I'm using NSRCG and it's full of errors in the equipment

not sure if it's the same one, this one has been updated with all the books and shit that came out for shadow run too.

I might need to buy a couple more cybernetics then to really push it lol

NSRCG - same one.

There are a lot of errors in the equipment details.

I noticed some missing stuff in accessories for guns, but since I'm doing a street sam it wasn't too big of a problem.

Missing weapon accessories aren't a problem for a sammy?  lol

For accessories for guns, it's less important to have accessories for swords and shit if you are cybered out enough to punch through people.
Title: Re: Shadowrun - Slivers of Light
Post by: Maxx on
They have to be close enough to punch.

Not if you have a sword, that like triples your reach, also throwing weapons. If we're doing the guns vs. swords argument he loses anyway lol swords can't match up to guns
Title: Re: Shadowrun - Slivers of Light

Swords give you +1 reach, longer weapons give you +2.  Trolls already have +1 natural reach so a troll with a spear or staff gets a +3 reach.  He can pretty much hit you from across the room...

As a white guy in the Yakuza, he's facing an uphill battle for respect and position.

Given that 2 out of three characters are Japanese and yours is Yak muscle, I think I know where this particular thread will likely go.

The initial Shadowrun thread is up....

still gotta finish my character for you.  I'll see if I can work on that on my lunch break at work.

I thought we had him worked out.  I don't need an actual character sheet.  The bio was sufficient.
