Plot Synopsis for the previous Chapter.....
The SWAT raid Father Domenic Sozio arranged proves fruitless, since the house is entirely empty. The SWAT commander is less than impressed and leaves Domenic in charge of the site. He asks Suki and Jack for advice as to how to proceed.
Brandy meets with Nigel Salvatore and takes a job as his personal escort, both because of the money offered and because it will annoy Morvan. Then she heads for La Cique to pick up Cynara who has also been driven outside by the fire alarm. They then traveled to the Lucid Dreams Men's club, where Brandy resigns her position as headliner. Cynara, in need of a job, applies for the position and sets an appointment to meet the manager Marty the next day for her interview.
Waylon meets with Seimen at the Seattle Tacoma Airport and picks him up so that he can meet with Nigel. On the way, Waylon brings up Seimen's ability to summon and control wolves. Seimen's answer is rather vague and Waylon warns him that honesty is the best policy.
Dorian, revealed to be a firestarter, triggers the fire alarm at La Cirque as he is leaving, forcing Sailor and Tyler to leave the club. After some serious flirtation and a trip into rat territory, they wisely retreat. Sailor reveals to Tyler that she is his sire.
Having failed in his attempt to attract the attention of Sailor the vampire, Dorian sets his sights on Lisette the animator, who is trying to deal with a drunken friend at the Velvet Circle. Dorian helps her get him to a cab and wonders aloud whether they will be charged an additional cover charge to get back inside.
Lillia and Tony have lunch at McDonalds with Nick, Don, Mike, Ann and Logan. They discuss the future of the wererats in Seattle and their rodere in particular. Ann warns Lillia that Nick is off limits. Nick orders Ann to teach Tony how to fight.
As they leave, they discover that the werewolves are meeting in the park again. They cross the park cautiously trying to avoid a fight but willing to fight if they had to. They reach the nearest entrance to the underground rodere lair, which is in the laundry room of an apartment building.
The werewolf council meets Troy, an emissary from California in the same park where the met Maya and the other shapeshifters. Troy presents a fresh kill as her gift to Lobo. After some good natured joking, the werewolves head for their game preserve to share the kill. Troy rides with Tom and learns about the current state of politics within Seattle and within the Pack.
Once at the preserve, Shale smells a buck that she wants to hunt. Lobo gives her permission and suggests Ryan, Troy and Andrew go along, since he has noticed Troy's attraction to Andrew. Ryan objects to Lobo's matchmaking, suggesting it undermines his authority. Lobo agrees and Tom explains more of the pack social structure to Troy, telling her that approximately one third of the pack if female so the competition for the males tends to get violent.
In Jakarta, the hunter decides to accompany Elisbeta to Seattle. He reveals that his name is Miguel San Miguel and agrees to join her in her hotel for the evening.
Huey the journalist meets Marshal in a Starbucks, where they exchange pleasantries. Afterwards Huey goes home to sleep but not until after Googling Marshal, while Marshall the werewolf opens up the abandoned building where the Tooth and Claw fight club secretly meets. Ian, a werehyena squares off against Lee, a vampire looking for a connection. Ian wins but only because Lee walks out of the fight after realizing Ian is not looking for the same thing. Ian, who has had his face torn open, is still willing to fight but Marshall talks him into taking a break to heal.
Altair and Keid, formerly conjoined white tiger lycanthrope twins arrive is Seattle, intending to attend the university. While looking for some entertainment, they meet Jules Xavier Chalice who invites them to the Manhattan Club to discuss a proposition. He seems to be in no hurry to go into details and is more than willing to let the twin set the pace of the conversation.
