Vampires and lycanthropes are real. Everybody knows that. Magic is real. Everybody knows that too and accepts it. What they don't always accept is that vampires and lycanthropes have won a landmark case in the US Supreme Court and have full rights as citizens. It is now a crime to kill one in the USA and Canada. Other parts of the world still have bounties on them.
People can make a living using magic. There are specialists called Animators, who call the dead from their graves. The police routinely consult psychics and the Catholic church has its own covens of witches. It's a great time to be alive and a better time to be undead. Want to live forever? The Church of Eternal Life will make you a vampire. For a donation, of course.
It's not all hugs and puppies for lycanthropes, however. They are shunned, feared and discriminated against. Lycanthropy is contagious. Vampires eat people. Not everyone is willing to have them as neighbors, coworkers or friends. Life can be tough if you get furry during the full moon or have a permanent set of fangs. And being a vampire doesn't guarantee you a night job.
Hey life has its problems whether you're alive, undead or fuzzy. That is what makes it all so interesting..

Monday July 8th 10:44 pm - La Cirque - Dorian
He almost waved the waiter aside but paused, watching the petite vampire. "I've changed my mind," he said. "Get me a Bloody Mary. I'd also like to buy they young woman at the bar a drink. You shouldn't have time telling which one. She's a vampire. I'd also like to make a request for the DJ." He held out a fifty dollar bill. "I don't want change."
A few moment later, the song that was playing finished and Dorian's song began. He preferred the Animotions version but the Sugarbabes would do.
You are an obsession I cannot sleep
I am a possession unopened at your feet
Theres no balance no equality
But still I will not except defeat
He took a sip of his Bloody Mary and, with the drink in his hand, moved out onto the dance floor. Like a shadow, he slipped between the moving bodies, pausing occasionally to dance with one for a few seconds before moving on. It was all part of the game. The vampire was obviously one of the club's dancers. The waiter would tell her who had purchased the drink. All she had to do was find him in the writhing crowd.
